Coed band '8EIGHT' drops teaser image and comeback date

SEOUL -- Coed band 8EIGHT, produced by BTS' godfather Bang Si-hyuk, reveals a teaser image and the release date for its comeback single through a social media post.

"This three-shot that is familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Nice to meet you," Baek Chan, a 35-year-old member of 8EIGHT, said in a post uploaded onto his Instagram on Thursday. In the same message, the singer used hashtags -- #February 7, # 6:00 p.m., #ComingSoon -- suggesting the trio band's comeback single would be released on Friday.

Baek Chan also expressed his excitement in the social media post by saying:

"Us, Again, Together"
"Lee Hyun, Joohee, Baek Chan"
"8Eight, Again, 2020

As the founding member of Bang's agency, 8Eight debuted in 2007 with hip-hop ballad songs such as "Goodbye My Love" and "Let's Not Go Crazy". However, the band became inactive in 2014 when its members pursued their own careers.

Last month, Big Hit said that Bang and Wonderkid, a famous composer, have worked together to create a ballad song for 8EIGHT. According to the agency, the new ballad song was designed to be a nostalgic gift for 8EIGHT fans who have waited for the band's comeback for a long time.
