Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is the key part of digital transformation that uses robot software to carry out repetitive tasks while human workers focus on other chores. The robot assistant technique is now widely used by government organizations and companies in South Korea.
BATEM, a domestic RPA solution developer, said in a statement on April 15 that the company has automated the data input of COVID-19 test results for the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA). Previously, nurses and doctors had to fill in some 30 fields including names, addresses and phone numbers by hand.
"We think that our automated solution will be highly effective, especially when it is applied to the front-line workplace where workers are overburdened with quarantine-related work," BATEM CEO Park Han-kyu was quoted as saying. While it took about three minutes to input all data fields per person by hand, the new system requires just 15 seconds.
