SEOUL -- Global fast-food franchise McDonald's has partnered with K-pop wonder BTS to release a special meal set including spicy dipping sauces inspired by the franchise's recipes in South Korea. The super band's signature meal set is McDonald's first celebrity-themed menu that will be released in nearly 50 countries worldwide.

The BTS meal set is part of McDonald's "Famous Orders," a promotion event series that releases favorite set menus of celebrities. For American consumers, the franchise operator has collaborated with artists such as American rapper Travis Scott and Colombian singer J Balvin.

"We’re joining forces with global pop icons, BTS, to offer their favorite order in nearly 50 participating markets," Alistair Macrow, McDonald's global chief marketing officer, said in a statement on April 20. "It all comes down to building more meaningful, authentic connections with our customers by celebrating the delicious McDonald’s food they love."

"BTS Meal" will include 10 or nine pieces of Chicken McNuggets, a medium-sized pack of potato fries, a medium-sized drink, and two dipping sauces, Sweet Chili and Cajun, inspired by McDonald's recipes sold in South Korea. McDonald's said that BTS Meal will be released globally on May 26.

“The band has great memories with McDonald’s. We’re excited about this collaboration and can’t wait to share the BTS Meal with the world,” said Bighit Music, the label of BTS.
