Data released by Interpark, a popular online ticket seller, on August 9 showed that the number of people who made reservations for art exhibition tickets increased 59 percent in the first half of 2022 from a year ago. The total transaction amount increased by 81 percent. 75.3 percent of the exhibition-goers were women.
Young people in their 20s formed the main consumer group, accounting for 39.3 percent, followed by those in their 30s with 34.2 percent and those who are aged 50 years old with 8.1 percent. The most visited exhibition was "A Collector’s Invitation The First Anniversary of Lee Kun-hee's Bequest" which showcases Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee's various artwork collections including traditional Korean paintings and modern sculptures. Currently, online tickets for the exhibition are all sold out.
