Red Velvet to represent K-pop bands at Primavera Sound 2023

SEOUL -- Girl band Red Velvet will interact with global fans at Primavera Sound, an annual music festival held in Spain, as the only K-pop group. The five-member band will perform along with global stars such as rapper Kendrick Lamar and Halsey. 
 
According to SM Entertainment, the group's agency, Red velvet will participate in the festival on June 1 in Barcelona and Madrid on June 8. This year, the event will take place between June 1 and 3 in Barcelona and in Madrid from June 8 to 10.
 
Previously, various global artists showcased their talents at Primavera Sound including American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus and Carly Rae Jepsen, a Canadian singer-songwriter. 
 
Red Velvet, which debuted in 2014, has released hit songs such as "Red Flavor," "Bad Boy," "RBB," and "Rookie." The group's 6th mini album titled "The ReVe Festival Day 1" has topped the real-time U.S. iTunes albums chart for the first time as a K-pop girl band. Group members also won applause from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for their appearance at a music concert by South Korean artists in Pyongyang in 2018 ahead of an inter-Korean summit.
