SEOUL -- Yoo Ah-in up for interrogation regarding alleged drug use

Actor Yoo Ah-in was questioned by authorities on March 27 following reports of his alleged usage of illegal drugs. The actor, whose true name is Uhm Hong-sik, entered the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency headquarters without answering any queries from the media.
 
Yoo had been purchasing propofol on a prescription too frequently since 2021 for non-medical uses. It is a potent anesthetic frequently used during operations. Yoo also tested positive for marijuana, cocaine, and ketamine after police sent samples of his hair and urine to the National Forensic Service for analysis.

House fire in Ansan claimed the lives of four young Nigerians

On March 27, a fire that spread inside a three-story apartment structure in Ansan, south of Seoul, claimed the lives of four young Nigerian siblings. Fire authorities in the city 30 kilometers south of Seoul report that the fire broke out on the first floor of the building at 3:28 a.m. and was extinguished by firemen 40 minutes later.
 
Inside the burned-out second-floor house, firefighters discovered the four siblings, two boys and two girls, all under the age of seven, dead.

Yoon names a new leader for the National Office of Investigation

Woo Jong-soo, the director of the Gyeonggi Nambu Province Police, was appointed on March 27 by President Yoon Suk Yeol to lead the National Office of Investigation, which is in charge of overseeing all police investigative teams across the country.
 
Woo's appointment followed Yoon's earlier decision to cancel Chung Sun-appointment sin's as police investigation head when it became clear that his son had severely mistreated one of his classmates in high school.

The head of Hankook Tire was charged with embezzlement and illegal inter-affiliate trading

According to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office, Chairman Cho Hyun-bum, Hankook Tire & Technology, was prosecuted for his involvement in Hankook Tire buying overpriced tire molds from its affiliate, Hankook Precision Works Co. They claimed that Hankook Tire suffered financial losses of about 13 billion won as a result of the unfair business practice, which cost 87.5 billion won ($67.3 million) and lasted from 2014 to 2017.
