SEOUL -- Seoul has launched a same-day luggage delivery service that connects international airports nearby Seoul and four selected subway stations. Using the service called "T-Luggage," travelers can send their luggage to airports from subway stations or vice versa.

The storage and delivery service that connects four subway stations with South Korea's two major airports -- Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport -- was launched on May 22, Seoul Metro said. Users scheduled to take a flight departing at night can send away luggage to an airport so that they can enjoy their tour without having to carry heavy bags.

Anyone can use the service through online reservation or by visiting T-Luggage centers at stations. Online reservations must be made one day ahead. The T-Luggage website currently provides three languages -- English, Chinese, and Japanese. Depending on the size of the items, delivery destinations, and service date, the fee ranges from 17,000 won ($12.9) to 45,000 won. On weekends, the price is about 8,000 won to 14,000 won more expensive than on weekdays due to high demand.

Starting in mid-June, the service will be available at most subway stations in the capital city where storage lockers are installed. Seoul Metro also plans to set up an infrastructure capable of delivering luggage from airports to hotels. According to Incheon International Airport, South Korea's main gateway, an annual average of 62.6 million pieces of luggage are processed at the airport.
